Humana Clinical Resources is seeking Family Medicine Physicians to provide outpatient services to active duty personnel and their family members in the Jennifer Moreno Clinic located in San Antonio, Texas.  Contract providers will be the principle providers responsible for the effective oversight, management and coordination of medical care and services for his/her designated enrollees  consisting of mostly adults (panels range from 900 - 1,500 patients). 

 

Responsibilities

Contract Physician will work under the general supervision of the Chief Medical Officer and will be responsible for obtaining medical histories, performing examinations and procedures, diagnosing conditions, prescribing medication, interpreting diagnostic tests, referring patients to specialists when appropriate, developing a treatment plan, and providing education and counseling to patients and family members on treatments and recovery plans.  Care includes complex and standardized procedures along with performing administrative duties within the context of ensuring world class healthcare. 

Qualifications

Qualified candidates shall possess a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy degree from a school approved by the Council of Medical Education; have successfully completed an accredited residency program in a primary care specialty or be board certified in a primary care specialty such as Family Practice or Internal Medicine. The Contracting Physician must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience  withinin the past three years routinely practicing as a Family Medicine Physician, have an active, unrestricted license to practice in any U.S. state, have an active DEA registration and current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association (prior to start).
