    Humana Military is seeking an Internal Medicine Physician  to provide outpatient care to active duty military personnel and their family members at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX.  Candidates will be providing health care services to active duty personnel and their family members.

     

    • Outpatient Clinic, M-F 7:30 to 4:30. 
    • Very Competitive Hourly Rate

    • No call, nights or weekends

     

    Must be BE or BC in Internal Medicine, recent direct patient care experience (2 of last 3 years), active/unrestricted license in any of the 50 States or U.S. Territories, current DEA and BLS  Must be U.S Citizen, as per U.S. Government guidelines.

    Responsibilities


    The contract physician will obtain medical histories, perform physical exams, interpret test results, initiate treatment and follow-up, provide complete and appropirate instructions regarding medications and follow-up plans and perform minor surgical procedures and suturing.  Care includes complex and standardized procedures along with performing administrative duties within the context of ensuring world class healthcare. 

     

     

    Qualifications


     

    Qualified candidates shall possess a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy degree from a school approved by the Council of Medical Education; have successfully completed a post graduate medical training program accredited by the American Board of Medical Specialties in Internal Medicine with some Geriatric experience.  The Contracting Physician must have a minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience with geriatric patients withinin the past three years routinely practicing as an Internal Medicine Physician; have an active, unrestricted license to practice in any U.S. state, have an active DEA registration and current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (prior to start).  Must be a US Citizen, as per U.S. Government guidelines.
