    HMHS has a need for Counseling Psychologists experienced in Substance Abuse Counseling to work at the Brooke Army Medical Center on Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio,  TX.

    • Outpatient day shift hours Monday thru Friday. No Call, No Weekends, No Federal Holidays Required.

    Responsibilities

    Counseling Psychologist will perform the following tasks:

     

    • Responsible for interviewing, behavioral assessments, cognitive behavioral therapy, evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment of substance abuse and psychological disorders.
    • Attend and participate in meetings during normal duty hours and staff conferences, departmental meetings and others as required.
    • Responsible for applying psychological procedures and techniques.
    • Conduct clinical interviews of patients, formulate diagnostic impression and recommendations for treatment and case disposition.
    • Must maintain thorough and accurate notes in both the Department of Behavioral Medicine as well as patient records. Produce reports of evaluation and/or treatment, as required.
    • Provide services to both inpatient and outpatient populations.
    • Communicate and coordinate with administrative personnel as needed for case management of assigned patient load.
    • Other duties as required by scope of work.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications per U.S. Government guidelines:  Candidate must have a master's degree in counseling, mental health, or other behavior field from an accredited program. Must possess a valid LPC, LMFT or LMHC license from any U.S. Jurisdiction. Minimum of 2 yrs. post-graduate experience within the past 5 years as a licensed provider in the area of Substance Abuse Treatment, BLS certification, and U.S. Citizenship.
